Local Business Offers a Unique Art Experience
SUISUN CITY, April 7, 2010 – How many people have wanted to paint like a Picasso or Van Gogh but were afraid to try? How many people have visited art galleries or museums and left wishing they had the talent to create art from paints, canvas, and paintbrush?
Vicky Clayton and Melody Garsee, co-owners of Treasures, were looking for opportunities to provide a new experience in the growing Suisun City business district. When Cathy Tittle approached them with the idea of painting classes that would provide fun and relaxation, while at the same time proving to people that creating a painting was possible, Melody and Vicky realized that the idea would be a perfect fit for their desire to offer something unique and different for people to experience.
“I always wanted to learn to paint, something my sister Cathy has done all her life” owner Vicky Clayton explains. “I thought I couldn’t learn, so when Cathy was visiting a few months ago, she had me invite a group of my friends over, and set up easels and paints and showed us in three short hours that we could all paint. They all wanted to know when we were going to paint again! Many of us had never painted anything before, and when some of our group took their paintings home, their families were shocked at how well they painted.”
Cathy adds, “painting should be a hands on experience for anyone who wants to give it a try. No one should feel as though creating a painting is something that is impossible. I believe that art can truly be appreciated through the process of creation, and I wanted to bring my love of art and painting to as many people as I can."
Absolutely no art experience is necessary to be able to paint! Trained artists will guide you step by step as you create your own masterpiece. Vicky, Cathy and Melody invite everyone to join them for fun and relaxation in a positive learning environment. They are convinced that people who experience Treasures by You will want to return again and bring others with them to share the fun.
The fun begins at 7 pm on April 9, 2010, at Treasures by You in Suisun City. Seating is by reservation only, so be sure to call or register online at treasuresbyyou.net. Bring your favorite wine or other beverage for sipping, and a friend or two, and bring out your inner artist. You will leave believing that you can paint like a master.
About Vicky Clayton, Melody Garsee, and Cathy Tittle
Vicky and Melody have been co-owners of Treasures for the past five years. Serving Suisun City and the surrounding communities of Fairfield, Travis Air Force Base, Vacaville and beyond, Treasures has been open since 2005 offering jewelry, gift baskets, candies and a variety of gift items. Treasures also participates in many community events, including the annual Art, Wine and Chocolate Festival, and has sponsored a Bake-Off booth in the Festival for over five years.
In addition, Vicky has been the owner of Nautical Salon, which has been offering friendly individual attention to customers for 25 years, and Melody has been the owner of Melody’s Nails for 28 years, and has operated in Nautical Salon for the past 21 years.
Cathy Tittle has been an artist for the past 47 years, and has shared her love of art with many people over the past 30 years. Cathy has also been an entrepreneur and owned her own business for over 15 years, until closing it to attend school to become a registered nurse.
